Lola chapter 3

When Lola was on summer break from her law studies, I took the opportunity to take some time off as well. My job as a freelance film photographer gave me good opportunities to manage my time. I was in demand as a filmmaker and had more work than I could handle. Mostly shorter stuff like commercials and music videos. So we had a joint summer vacation.

We set clear goals with what we wanted to do, what we would try to achieve. Spend time with others - together with her family and friends, with my family and friends - as a "couple". Would it work? Then there was the sex thing. Would we find a balance of mutual enjoyment that could stand the test of time? All this was worth a try.

Lola doesn't have many male friends. George and Christian who are an established gay couple, my childhood friend Markus whom she had met at a night club last year but not many others. Not close friends anyway, but all the more girlfriends. Many from the university and even a couple of girls she had known for years. Like Mikaela for example. They had gotten to know each other in their teens, becoming close friends in a relationship that had developed into fuck buddies. We arranged a meeting with Mikaela one afternoon in town. I knew she knew and she knew I knew she knew. Everyone knew everything. It seemed to interest Mikaela - she said several times that she thought we should do something "fun" all three of us together. I pretended not to understand, and it was Lola who repelled her approach. Finally, she spoke plainly:
- Mikaela, I understand what you mean and of course, maybe one day - if Johan also wants - but not now. Not yet. We need time to find each other Johan and I. It is not completely uncomplicated. You know that!
Mikaela didn't look upset in any way.
- Yes I understand. I hope you are doing well my love.
She smiled widely at both of us.
- But… your’e saying maybe some day?
All three of us burst out laughing.

Lola was right. We needed time, and we took our time.
